Margaret Judith Lewis fell asleep in Christ on March 14, 2018. She was born to Mr. Quincy Hobbs and Mrs. Emma Lee Hobbs on January 27, 1965 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Margaret's siblings included brothers: Quincy (Arnetta) Hobbs, Randle (Katie) Hobbs, William Hobbs, Freeman Hobbs, Shawn (Sonia) Hobbs, Dennis Hobbs-deceased, Gerone (Courtney) Hobbs. Here sisters were: Reatha Hobbs-deceased, Deborah James, LuRinda Hobbs, Dianette Brown, Clotese Hobbs, Sheila Hobbs-deceased, Francis (Marvin) Williams, Gail Hobbs-deceased, LaJoy (Lance) Gillmore.
Margaret was educated under the regiment of Northern High School where she learned the value of service. She furthered her education and received a certificate as a certified nurse's assistant. She worked passionately in the nursing field until switching careers to begin working for the government as a certified quality control personnel making submarine and hospital emergency room equipment. Margaret married Melvin Lewis in 1987 and they lived in the grace of the Lord for 31 years. In 2013, Margaret went on to become the owner and founder of Emerge II, an organization which helped to clothe and feed hundreds of families across the greater Michigan area. She also served as an ordained elder and music ministry director in the Summit Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jackson, Michigan. She was known in the community as the "Giver that keeps on giving."
Margaret leaves to cherish her husband: Melvin Lewis of Jackson; two children: Isaiah Lewis of Jackson and Nephrateri Lewis of Jackson; 2 grandchildren: Gabriel Lewis of Virginia, Messiah-Ramere' Lewis of Jackson; 2 aunts, Elizabeth Hall and JoAnn Williams of Detroit; a step mother, Versi Hobbs of Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and Carliss James, a "Special Aunt".

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Oasis of Love Church located at 800 S. Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49203. Family hour 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, service at 12 pm.
