Margie Helen McClurg – Passed away on October 27, 2018 at her beloved farmhouse in Jackson, Michigan. Margie passed peacefully and joined her husband Ken who preceded her this last July. She was welcomed to heaven by both Ken and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Margie was born March 9, 1928 to William and Lena Ely in Jackson, MI. Margie is survived by the following children and grandchildren: Karen Plumb (David and Jackie); Michael and Min McClurg (Candace and great grandchildren Isabelle and Adelia); Lynn and Patti McClurg (Scott, Thomas and Shannon); Shawn and Sharon McClurg (Rey, Max, Sasha, Cora and Madilynn). Margie graduated from Jackson High School and married Ken on November 9, 1947. Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who loved learning and teaching. She went on to work at Mercy Hospital starting in the housekeeping department and moved to the physical therapy department at Foote Hospital. Later she also worked at the Work Hardening program. Margie utilized a variety of pioneering whole-body wellness approaches that were at least 30 years ahead of her time. She often offered free massage for everyone who was hurting as she lived her life as a holistic “healer”. Margie enjoyed playing her piano, milking her goats, gardening, sewing, walking in the woods, and spending time with Ken and her family. She was always making a meal complete with pie and shared whatever she had with everyone who walked in the door. Later in life, she taught her grandchildren arts, crafts, and homesteading. Margie possessed a strong opinion and she never hesitated to share it. Underneath this demeanor was her deep love and compassion for others towards their wellbeing and safety. Margie was faithful to anyone in need. Margie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and treasured her bible and her relationship with God. Her faith and character have left a legacy upon those she knew especially her family that she loved deeply. Join us to celebrate Margie’s life at the Chas. J.
