

She was born November 17, 1925, to Earl and Martha (Friend) Bitner in Huntington, Indiana. She married Gerald L. Robinson a World War II veteran in 1946, and they had 38 years of marriage together before he died in 1984.
Mary is survived by her daughter Marty (Butch) Futrell; son Robert (Vickie) Robinson; grandchildren Michelle (Scott) Taylor, Harry (Danielle) Futrell, Jerry (Missy) Futrell, Jason (Chanyn) Robinson, Bryan (Rachel) Dick, Robert L. (Katie) Robinson, Stephanie (Brian) Videan and Kevin Dick; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Star A. Robinson; and siblings Phyllis Taylor, Edna Hafle, Dick Bitner, Chuck Bitner, Jim Bitner and Gene Bitner.
Mary loved sewing and crocheting and enjoyed making many things for everyone in the family, most recently making crafts like beaded necklaces and bracelets for the staff and residents at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility where she has resided since 2019. In her younger years she enjoyed roller skating and tap dancing with her sisters. She also loved playing cards, and bingo, as well as scrabble, crossword puzzles, and word-find books. She especially enjoyed playing board games with her grandkids and having them overnight for bonfires and late-night games. She really enjoyed going to Elvis Tribute shows with her daughter and friends, attending many over the years.
Mary loved her family and always worried about them. She was very generous with her time and talents.
We will miss her.
A Memorial visitation will be held on February 27, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, 1806 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI, 49202.
A burial of ashes will follow the service at Roseland Memorial Gardens, 3744 Brooklyn Rd., Jackson, Michigan, 49203.
