Oh my Lucille, how I loved you. You were my best friend and like a second mom to me. I'll treasure forever all the precious memories of our time spent together. I miss comming to Michigan at leaste once a year to visit you and Art and all the good times we had. Going up to the cabin, riding in the woods and just enjoying each other. Such precious, precious memories.I miss you just knowing that you are not there in Michigan anymore.You'll always be in my heart.

The memory of a good person is a blessing.  Lucille, we are comforted by the many wonderful memories that we've shared. You were a good mother raising and caring for your two daughters (Mary and Jean) and son (William Robert).  You were a loving and devoted wife to your husband William Arthur (Art) for 63 years.  You were a person ready and willing to help others in need, and your life was filled with countless blessings.

We remember how much you so treasured each of your pet dogs; Bucky, Shawn I and Shawn II, and Honey who have passed on before you.

Remembering the small rustic cabin retreat you and Art had near Higgins Lake in Michigan that was appropriately named, “Hillbilly Heaven.” This was a special place away from your home where all your family and friends were invited to come to hunt and gather around a campfire singing songs while enjoying each other's company.

Lucille we remember how much you loved to sing songs.  “T for Texas” was certainly one of your favorite songs, and how you particularly loved to yodel.  We have vivid memories of your love for country music, particularly country music sung by Vince Gill.

Our memories include; that you made everyone feel most welcome when they were invited into your home. Your great grandson (Jason) loved to stay with you overnight because you would fix him your famous grilled cheese sandwich made with “Texas Toast.”  He always said, “Nobody made grill cheese as good as his great grandma did!” How you introduced your great grand daughter (Heather) to grits cooked in bacon grease a favorite that she still loves to this day.

We remember at age 94, surrounded by your children, grand children and great grand children you demonstrated that you could still sing, “T for Texas” and flawlessly perform the yodeling parts as well!

As we wipe the tears from our eyes we realize how much you will be missed.  Living forever in our hearts what we do know is this; Art is glad to have his “baby” back as you reunite with a kiss.  Your journey has been a long one and together you will stay, waiting for friends and family to join you one day.

So very sorry for your loss, I'll always remember your Mom. You are in our prayers at this very sad time. Memories will last a life time!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.  I had a nice long visit with her at the Medical Care Facility last year.  She was very well liked by all and she always had a smile for everyone.

I have so many nice memories of Aunt Lucille...She lived a great long life...always a nice lady...Sorry to hear about her passing...Janet Strickler
