Merrill E. Palmer

Of Jackson, passed away at his home under the loving care of his family on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the age of 79. He is survived by his sister, Ardella Faulkner; brother, Joseph Palmer; and nephew, Joseph (Amy) Palmer Jr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Maryjane Palmer, James Palmer, Clara Ford, and Lydia Palmer; as well as a nephew, Gregory Faulkner. Merrill was born to Joel and Rosa (Greenwood) Palmer in Jackson, on July 9, 1937. He participated in the Special Olympics, enjoyed fishing, bowling, the Detroit Tigers and Kyle Bush. Merrill was genuine and kind. He had a way of making people feel good. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating his life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Michael Mason officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Merrill will be laid to rest next to his mother at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
