Nikkia Tishone Harris

October 5, 1972January 15, 2021

To my dear mother, my five beautiful children; three grandchildren and my special sisters and brothers: If you are reading this, it is only because I entered this life, Nikkia Tishone Harris on October 5, 1972 at 8:06 AM and I departed this world on January 15, 2021 and now I am heaven bound.

I began my education at the St Joseph Catholic School (JCMS) and graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1990; attended Baker College, majoring in criminal justice.

I gave my life to Christ at the tender age of 13, under the leadership of James L. Burrus at the Adams St Church of Christ.

When my health would allow it, I loved to travel. Monica, my travel buddy, I'm sorry we will not get to finish our trips, but we had fun!

I leave this life and join my father, Seymore Harris Jr; my brother, Seymore Harris III and my loving and caring bonus dad, Johnny Harrell, who raised me as his own.

I leave to cherish my memory; my devoted mother, Anne Harrell; my precious children, Sierra Semenchuk of Honolulu, HI, Jaeshone and Traevon Oliver, Tyveon and Jyvere Moss of Jackson; grandchildren, Tristan, Kysen and Bryson Oliver; my loyal sisters, Tiye (Bobby) Harris, Ashley (RaShnne) Harrell and Essence (Phil) Mastin; my brothers, Rashawn and Johnathan Harrell. Special people in my life: Charlie (Sam) Williams of Greenwood, MS, Uncle Jesse Wallace of Greenwood, MS, Aunt Helen Watson of Long Beach, CA, Monica Burrell (childhood friend until the end) and Kate McCully; I love you all!

I'll always love my family and friends; keep love alive and never give up on it. Please don't cry for me because I am at home. When you see something that reminds you of me, just remember, I am happy and free.... I am Nikki!

To my children: Sierra, I am so proud of you, just keep flying!

Jae and Tre, I'm proud of you as well and please stay focused!

TT and Jarv, my babies, the sky is the limit and you are just getting started. I take comfort in knowing you'll be alright, because with God and the help in my village, they'll make sure you are.

Mommy loves you!

Nikki was one of my favorite cousins. I remember so many great experiences we had when I would come back to town. She would always do what she could to make sure I had a good time. We truly love one another; she will be greatly missed!

Tiye always spoke of you with all of the love that sisters have for each other. Your children are your gifts to the world, nurtured and inspired by a "mother's love."

We are sorry for the loss of Nikki she was such an asset to the body of Christ.

She was always willing to pitch in a helpful hand or idea whenever needed. She never said no when called upon for assistance.

She’s going to be truly missed. Rest peacefully now our friend.
