Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away under the care of family and the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 74. Nolan was born to parents Nathan and Clara Stafford on August 28, 1952, in Chicago Ill. His life reflected steady courage and resilience, carried with a gentle spirit and an honest, kind-hearted way of being that others could trust and lean on.
Nolan served in the United States Navy, a commitment he was extremely proud of, and one that spoke to the loyalty and strength that marked his years. He was devoted to his friends, especially his long time friend Sylvester and wife Megan Holmon; those who knew him well could see how their company brought him to ease and happiness, energizing him and drawing out the best in him.
In quieter moments, Nolan found enjoyment in simple pleasures—old western movies, action packed movies with Bruce Lee, bird watching, and playing bingo, especially when he was winning. Through it all, he carried himself with a steady decency and warmth that will be remembered with respect.
Nolan is survived by his brother Robin Stafford; sister June Stafford; sons Jamar Anthony Poole Sr. and Nolan Kyle B. Wade; grandchild Jamar Anthony Poole Jr.; and three great grandchildren Gianni Amar Poole, Serenity Nicole Poole and Emery Wade, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Clara Stafford, brother Jonathan David Stafford.
