Owen Almon Roberts

Of Jackson, passed away with family at his side on July 21, 2017 at the age of 83. Owen was born on October 12, 1933 in Jackson, MI to Clifford E. and Anna Mae Roberts. He worked for many years for (ITT) Hancock Company as a set-up man. Owen loved to go hunting, fishing, and camping. Owen was a veteran serving our country in the United States Army from 1952-1954, and he also attended New Horizons Church of God. Owen is survived by his children, Bruce (Cheryl) Roberts, Dale (Tina) Roberts, Heidi Roberts; grandchildren, Ben (Laura) Roberts, Tammy (James) Drinkwine, Nichole McDaniel, Korey (Andrea) Roberts, Zachary (Christina) Roberts; 17 2/3 great grandchildren; siblings, Beverly (Jerry) Dice, Barb Roberts, Marsha Roberts, Cindy (Kent) Sleete, and Kevin Roberts; and long-time friends, Guy and Nancy Sines, Jan Miller, and Elsie and Jerry Valentine. The Roberts family would like to thank Great Lakes Caring Hospice for all the wonderful care they gave during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Owen’s life will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 at the funeral home with visitation on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
