

Paul was born in Ovid, MI, on November 12, 1942. He was the son of Paul and Daisy Metzger.
He spent his youth in Owosso. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1961. Tall Paul was a Star on the basketball team. -His love for sports was life long. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1964 and spent a year in Viet Nam.
Paul was lucky in love. He was married to Jeanne Johnson for 23 years. And he took good care of her. She passed away in 2003. He then found a girlfriend in Louise See. They were companions for 12 years. They, too, were happy, traveled and had fun. Louise passed away in 2017.
Paul didn’t expect to find love again, but then there was Nancy. He thought that after he gave up on driving that he would lose his fiancé. But Nancy Vincent was faithful and stuck by Paul.
Earlier Paul had two loyal dogs, Jose and Willi, and one indifferent dog, Scruffy.
Paul retired from Michigan State Industries, Michigan Department of Corrections in Jackson. He was a life member of the Owosso VFW 9455 and of Vandercook Lake Baptist Church.
Paul is survived by his fiancé Nancy Vincent of Jackson, his sister Patty Isenhower (Ernest) of St. Johns; his sister-in-law Janet Metzger of Hastings; and three nephews and a niece.
In 2025 Paul was preceded in death by his brother, James S. Metzger, and his nephew, Jonathan Isenhower.
In 2024 he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karla.
