Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the age of 78. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by special friend, Cindy Beasley and his seven siblings. He is survived by his children, Tammy (Scott) Trowbridge, Raymond, Jr. “Buzz”, Todd, April, Dawn, Wendy, Michael and Rayanne Swank; seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandson as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Ray was born in Jackson on April 17, 1943 to Wayne and Dorothy (King) Swank and attended Michigan Center Schools. Ray will be remembered as a competitively spirited person who took no "BS" from anyone. He loved his Michigan sports teams, from Lions Football, Tiger's Baseball, Red Wing hockey to NASCAR racing. Throughout his bartending career he kept his many friends close and his enemy's even closer. Ray was loved by so many people, who considered him a go to person for anything. When his family and friends needed anything Ray was willing to offer what he could, when he could. He will be greatly missed. There will be a graveside burial service held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 11:30 a.m until 12:30 p,m. He was a lifetime member of the Michigan Center Eagles, where the family will join with friends to continue celebrating him during a luncheon after the committal. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with final expenses would be greatly appreciated.
