

Of Ackerson Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patsy LaRock; son, Roy LaRock; infant grandson, John Corser; infant great grandson, George “Will” Dingledine; four brothers, Abel “Robert”, Harold, Ernest and Howard LaRock. He will be remembered by his significant other and constant companion, Cindy Riker; daughters, Cheryl LaRock, Denise (Michael) Corser; son, Richard LaRock; daughter in-law, Patricia LaRock-Miller; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Richard) Aherns, Betty Campbell and Joan LaRock as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Richard was born in Jackson to Abel and Alola (Waters) LaRock on August 22, 1932. After he proudly served in the 82nd Airborne in The United States Army he returned to Jackson where he raised a family, retired from the County building after twenty years as Facility Manager then went on to retire after twenty years at Comerica Bank also as Facility Manager. He enjoyed Michigan outdoors and antique cars. He was a proud, hardworking family man. A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00A.M. with Reverend Michael Corser officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8P.M. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church “Food Pantry”.
