Richard T. Sanders

Of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne Sanders (Alexander); son, Richard (Diane) Sanders; grandchildren, Forrest Sanders, Dirk Warrick, Shannah Warrick, Deanna Walkowicz and Robert Gerlach; as well as five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Barbara Warrick and Frances Jean Sanders. Richard was one of four children born to Reguile and Mary Sanders in Augusta, GA. After serving in the Army National Guard he relocated to Jackson where he and Joanne raised their family. He was employed at Lite Metal Die Cast and retired from Jackson Die Cast. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Marion Baptist Church. A service honoring his life is scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.with Pastor Dennis Williams officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation from 12:30 until the time of service. He will be laid to rest in Roseland Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, contributions in his honor may be made to the Cascades Humane Society or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
