

Went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Genevieve (Taylor) Emerson, daughters, Karen Peters and Barbara Ball; son, Michael (Betty) Emerson; granddaughters, Brenda Brenner and Kelly Fink; grandson, Eric Ball; great granddaughter, Nicole Pierce; two great grandsons, Raymond (Elizabeth) Pierce and Brandon Hall; great-great grandson, Devian Franklin; great grandchildren, Destiny and Aaron Lige as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Loretta Brighton; brother, Alro Emerson; son in-law, Roy Peters Jr. and grandson, Timothy Brenner. Bob was born, July 29, 1926 in Jackson, to Frank and Florence (Palmer) Emerson. He enjoyed his working career as a truck driver. He was employed with Great Lakes Express, Blair Transit and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 164.Bob lived an active life, spent much of his time doing woodwork; was a member of the Eagles and The Moose Lodge, a proud, hardworking family man and created many special memories traveling with granddaughter, Brenda, to Canada and Niagara Falls. He had a strong faith in the Lord, touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. According to his wishes cremation has been chosen and a private family service will be held at a later date.
