

Passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Donna; son, Jack (Debbie) Murray; daughter, Maureen Murray; daughter-in-law, June Howard Murray; grandchildren, James Murray, Jodi (Dave) Negus, Ryan (Tonya) Murray, Steven (Laura) Murray and Angela Pearl; eight greatgrandchildren; two nephews and two nieces. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Allen Murray; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Dick Gant; brother-in-law, Lawrence Rinehart and sister-in-law, Dorothy Rinehart. Mr. Murray was born to Robert George Murray Sr. and Pearl (Evans) Murray in Jackson on March 18, 1925. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1942. In May of 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and was a member of "B" Battery in the 87th Armored Field Artillery Battalion and was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry during action in France, August of 1944. In 1945 he married his High School Sweetheart. He spent his career as a plumber and was a proud member of the United Association Plumbers' Union for more the 65 years. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM followed by military honors.
