Of Grass Lake, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, May 23, 2014 at the age of 56. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Straub; siblings, Randy (Toot) Straub, Shelia (Dennis) Pond and Sheryl (Butch) VanVleet as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Straub and four brothers, Larry, Michael, Gary and Jerry. Rod spent his working career in computers. He was employed at one time with Consumers Power then Jacobson’s and most recently he operated a private computer consulting service. He enjoyed life, his family, spending time in the yard, watching television, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and the game of chance. A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 3:00P.M. The family will receive friends at 2:00, just prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
