Ronald Leroy Meador

age 79, of Grass Lake, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Ron was born in Jackson, MI on July 23, 1944. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Patti in 2015 after 50 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his three older siblings Paul, James, and Dale. Ron is survived by nine nieces and nephews: Kelly Wyers, Laurie Zemer, Dave Meador, Dan Meador, Jeff Wyers, Traci Wyers, Lisa Rudd, Stacy Davidson, and Kevin Cromley. Ron graduated from Michigan State University in 1969 with a degree in Finance and Accounting. He had a distinguished career and retired from Consumers Energy in 2002 after 33 years as an Executive Manager of Financial and Regulatory Reporting. In 2003, Ron started his second career as co-owner of Eastwood Developments, LLC., with his nephew Jeff, general contractor, and builder. Ron found this new world to be very enjoyable. Over the next 15 years, he and Jeff purchased vacant land lots in condo developments, designed blueprints, rounded up financing, constructed up-scale condos and sold over twenty completed units. Ron always said Jeff was the brains of the operations as he managed all on-site activities. Ron's job was simply to round up "boat loads" of cash to make sure we had enough money for Jeff to keep on building and for Ron to sell all the completed units. Ron also enjoyed golf, spending time with his family, taking casino trips, bluegill fly fishing, and watching U OF M football on a Saturday with a cold beverage. Funeral services will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI 49202) Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 am. Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to time of service.
