Sam E. Jones

February 4, 1942 – January 8, 2026

Sam Earl Jones, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Jackson, Michigan. He was born on February 4th, 1942, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others. Sam, devoted his life to his family and community. He worked as a machine operator at Hayes Albion for 29 years and was known for his dedication and sense of humor. He was also an honored member of Berean Bible Baptist Church, where he found great joy in his faith. Sam is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Midge) Jones; his sister Edna Reese, his sister Alice Imanpour, his children, Allen Jones, and Stacey Jones; five cherished grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and his good friend Tim Bauer. He was preceded in death by his father George Jones Sr., his mother Bertha Kline, his brother George Jones Jr., his brother Robert Jones and sister Clara Stafford. Sam will be remembered for his sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He was truly loved by his family and his family was truly blessed to have been loved by him. He will be missed. We pray that the Creator of heaven and earth will embrace his spirit, as we embrace his memory.

Visitation for Sam will be held on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at 5:00-7:00 pm at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, 1806 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan. Sam’s Home Going will be held at Berean Bible Baptist Church, 2104 Francis Str, Jackson, Michigan on January 15th, 2026, with a family hour at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm.
