Sharon Lee Reid

Sharon Lee Reid, age 71, of Jackson, Michigan, returned to sit in the presence of her creator on September 4, 2025. Born September 1, 1954, to father Elwood Butts and Mother Delphine Donna Butts. Sharon and her siblings Donita Skupien and Samuel were raised on an 87 1⁄2-acre farm in Rives Junction, Michigan. Growing up she had many responsibilities on the farm; her favorite being caring for her animals. She continued her caring ways, helping babysit her sister's children as a teenager. Sharon left the family farm to start a family of her own, giving birth to son, Jeremy Carter and daughter Regina Reid. Her children remember her as someone who loved to entertain, always singing, joking, and storytelling. Her family extended far beyond blood, as she was known as mother to adopted children Shannon, Jami, Shanda, Cortney, Sarah, and Jody. Sharon spent most of her days babysitting her many grandchildren playing a vital role in their lives. Antonio, Tyler, Adrianna, Jazzmyne, Deshon, Allan, Shamar, Isayah, Jeremiah, Deyja, Emmanual, Caliyah, CJ, Ceana, Matthew, Shyanne, Maliki, and AJ were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren will remember watching VCR tapes, trips around Jackson, and her colorful expressions. She was always a giver, taking care of her dear Aunt Chris, donating to many charities, and always keeping in touch with friends and family. In her final days in the hospital, her number one concern was getting back to her loving cat Sprinkles. She will be remembered fondly for her conversation, stubbornness but above all her loving spirit. Sharon’s celebration of life memorial will be held on Wednesday September 10, 2025 11:00 AM at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral home (1806 East Michigan Ave), followed by her celebration of her life at 12:00 PM. All are welcome as Sharon knew no stranger and loved all company. Contributions can be made in her honor to a charity of your own choosing.
