Born on Oct. 11, 1917, Sophia lived through the great depression and went on to live a long life, passing away at age 100. She was a feisty woman, a generous spirit who would share anything she had with those she loved. She enjoyed fishing with her brother and swore she could clean and cook up any type of fish there was. She was a great conversationalist and storyteller. She is preceded in death by brothers, Alex, Walter, and John, her children, Charles (Buddy) and Diane Rogers, and her stepdaughter, Karen Wasilew. Surviving are her stepdaughter, Sharon Willard, nieces Sally Bidol, Linda (Larry) Richards and Nancy (Randy) Butler, nephews Allen, Mike (Judy), Jim (Peggy), Pat and Tom Bidol, along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews. A special heartfelt thank-you goes out to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Countryside Care Center where she resided for the last eight years. No memorial service is planned, and per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
