Passed away at her home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 65. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Michael McGuire; three children, Aaron (Erin) Wynn, Alisha (Cy) Young, Shannon (Kevin) Bitner; grandchildren Sophia Wynn, Logan and Caeden Young, Julian Richardson, Eilah, Kendall, and Oaklyn Bitner. Siblings Joseph (Dolly) Haughain, Diana (Gary) Hackworth, Theresa (Mark) Putra, and Maria (John) Burge. As well as, many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Vanessa was born April 15, 1955, the daughter of Joseph and Shirley Haughain in Jackson, Michigan. Vanessa worked for the State of Michigan for 36 years, retired in 2016, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Vanessa was the planner of all events and no event went unnoticed. One of her favorite things to do was to take her grandchildren to the candy store. She enjoyed camping, traveling, swimming, motorcycle rides and trips with friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at 2 PM at Spring Arbor Cemetery; Spring Arbor, Main Street M-60.
