Vickie Ann Chapman

Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 53 (forever 29) at her home surrounded by family. Vickie was born in Oakland County, Michigan on October 5, 1971, to parents Edward Chapman and Barbara (Robert) Knapp. A graduate of Napoleon High School, Vickie concluded her schooling in 1989. Vickie sought employment within various healthcare facilities, serving many years at the Duane Waters Correctional Facility, and ending her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, administering life-saving care through both the actions of her service and the content of her character. Vickie lived life selflessly, fully dedicating herself to her mother, children, and grandchildren: warranting a life full of play, laughter, and unconditional love within her family. Consistently recognized for her contagious smile, Vickie’s bright light has been left in replacement of her absence on everyone who has been lucky enough to know her in her lifetime. Vickie is survived by her mother Barbara Knapp, children Andreya Shontee Chapman, Alonta Devon Chapman (Kara Buckley), Wendell Ross Lewis, Amarion Chapman-Lewis and Jaxx; grandchildren Princetyn Robert-Jewell Andrew, Alonta Devon Chapman, Jr., and London Alexandria Chapman; and siblings Kitty Wojciechowski, Tammy Marhesic, Edward “Bob” Chapman, Amber Drye, Lynnette Robinson and Nikki Robinson. She is preceded in death by her father Edward Chapman and stepfather Robert E. Knapp, Zoe and Mocha. Per Vickie’s wishes cremation has taken place, a celebration of her life will be held August 30, 2025 at Bellanotte 137 W. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI 49201 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with family hour 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
