Wendall "Woody" Robert Woodard

Age 81, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born on January 11, 1945, in Jackson, Michigan. Woody was a strong-minded man whose determination and distinctive presence shaped the way he moved through life. Even in his later years, he remained committed to his health and strength, working out three times a week for hours at a time—an enduring reflection of his resilience and steady spirit.

Those who knew him best recognized his very dry sense of humor, often delivered in subtle, unexpected ways that brought quiet amusement to the moment. He valued friendship and connection throughout his life, and his lifelong friendships remained strong. He loved to have fun and genuinely enjoyed time with those closest to him. In quieter moments, Woody found his greatest peace sitting by the ocean, watching the waves roll in. The beach brought him calm and reflection, and it was where he felt most at ease. He also treasured time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in playing with them and sharing in their laughter.

Woody is survived by his children, Tricia Woodard and Wendall Woodard lll; grandchildren, Ashley, Zacari, and McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Miles, Audrey, Imogen, and Grayson; and his sibling, Deborah and Mick Baughman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aileen Dorenbush and Wendall G. Woodard .Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Woody’s life will be held at a later date. He will be remembered for his strong will, his steady presence, and the way he lived life in his own way. He cared deeply, even when it was not always easy for him to express it.
