Reverend Wilber L. Silvernail

Was born on June 9, 1927 in Hazel Park, Michigan and went to his eternal reward on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the age of 87. Reverend Silvernail served in the U.S. Army of Occupation where he met his first wife, Jean Miwako Kawakita, who died in 2005. After completing his military service he attended North Central College and Evangelical Theological Seminary and was ordained by the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He served Churches in Niles- Portage Prairie and Waterloo area, where he also earned a Master’s Degree in guidance and counseling from Michigan State University. He was then employed by the Disability Determination Services for 36 years. He is survived by his second wife, Florence and two daughters, Sherry (Dave) Eichler and Dawn Kraus; three grandsons, Joshua (Katie) Eichler, Jason (Larae) Eichler and Joseph Benard Sr.; five great grandchildren, Joseph (Rachel) Benard Jr., Emily, Jacob, Natalie and Noah Eichler; three great-great granddaughters, Alexandria, Layla and Joslyn Benard. A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church (925 Backus St. Jackson 49201) on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Calvary United Methodist Church or to the Allegiance Hospice Home.
