Of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the age of 81. He will be remembered by his wife of many years, Nancy Lammon; two sons, Ronald (Kelly) Lammon and Jim (Kim) Lammon; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Jennie), John (Jade), Heather, Joshua, Trevor, Taylor and Terilyn; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Allie and Lars; sister, Jeanine (Larry) Kuhlman and sisters-in-law, Ronda Lammon, Sharon Hughes and Carol Johnson as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Lammon and infant twin sons, Johnnie and Larry. Bill was born in Jackson on June 1, 1939 to John and Evelyn (Campbell) Lammon. After his graduation from Michigan Center high school in 1957 he attended Olivet College and played football. When he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force he returned to Jackson, where he raised a family. Bill retired from Michigan State Department of Corrections in 2002 after many years of service. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed NASCAR; found much excitement out of flying his plane and loved his K-9 companions. Mr. Lammon will be laid to rest at Leoni Township Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020. His family will receive friends at Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a local animal shelter or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
