Amy Vaughan Roberts Wainwright, 51, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 27, 2013. Born in Durham, NC, Amy had been a resident of Jacksonville for 20 years. She was an English professor at UNF for nearly 17 years. She graduated from The Ohio State University and in a class exceeding 5,000 students, Amy was selected as a President’s Scholar of 100 for her academic accomplishments. She earned her Master’s Degree in English literature from the American University in Washington D.C. and attended King’s College, Oxford and Radcliffe College in Cambridge, MA. Amy had a love for the movie Life of Pi which she believed to be filled with the ultimate metaphors and Harold and Maude which helped shaped her view on relationships. Preceded in death by her daughter, Olivia Grace Wainright, she is survived by her father, Bruce R. Roberts and mother and step-father, Harriet and Charles Costello; son, Evan Paxton Wainright; daughter, Grace Victoria Wainright; fiancé, Paul R. Gerjovich; brother, Mark K. Roberts; uncle and aunt, Andrew and Myrtie Adkins; and a multitude of friends. A gathering to celebrate Amy’s life will be held from 5:30-7:30 Monday, July 1st, at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
