Betty L. Reed, 90, passed away October 28, 2016. Betty was born in Key West, Florida on May 21, 1926 to Frederick L. Johnson and Mary Thelma Richardson Johnson. She was a long time resident of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Bud” Reed; and a daughter Debra Lynn Reed; a brother, Frederick Johnson (Grace); a sister, Silvia Torres (Gilbert) and her grandson, Stephen Ryan Reed. Survivors also include her three loving sons; Dennis Reed (Dianne); Stephen Reed (Linda) and Gary Reed (Kristi); a brother, Buddy Johnson (Pat); Alice Jones four grandchildren; Anne Marie Thomas (Art); Andrew Wayne Reed (Sarah); Dustin Reed, Maggie Reed ; two great-grandchildren; Taylor Nicole Thomas and Sophie Rose Reed. A Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 8th Ave., North, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250. Interment will follow at H. Warren Smith Cemetery, Jacksonville Beach In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Betty L. Reed’s name.
