Betty J Voss entered into the kingdom of God on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Many loved ones were awaiting her arrival including her husband of nearly 50 years Daniel Voss, her parents, her mother – in-law, 13 of her siblings and her best friend Kaye Curley.
Betty had many loves in her life such as going on cruises, hosting parties, her dogs, baking cookies, gardening, relaxing in her pool and of course none more important than her husband, well that’s not true none more important than her Chicago Cubs! She watched her Cubs religiously. No one was more excited than her when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. She joked when it was her time she'd go happily cause she saw her Cubs win at least one
In 1987 she retired from Illinois Bell and her and her husband decided to trade in their Illinois address for one in Florida. They had their home built in Orlando, Florida and lived there together until Dan’s passing in 1991.
After her husband’s passing, Betty decided to move closer to her best friend and family. In 1993 she had a new home built and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she spent the next 27 years building memories with all those who loved her.
Betty is survived by her sister, Genevieve Mack, along with many loved ones in Illinois and Florida.
Betty was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She loved the time she was able to spend with each and every one of them.
Though Bebe never had children of her own, she was able to have a motherly relationship with many people over the years; especially the Curley children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Because of the bond she created with all those she loved she was able to stay in her home and be cared for by those she felt were her own natural family.
Whether you called her Bebe, Betty, Bets, or Aunt Betty she will be missed by all. We will remember the words she lived by and pray we live by them to:
Here’s to it to do it, if you don’t do it when you get to it, you may never get to it to do it again!
A service to celebrate her life will be held 9AM Saturday, Aug 15th in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
