Carly Marie Hernandez was born January 27, 1953 in St. Louis MO. She proudly served in the United States Navy between 1970–1995 (24 yrs) before retiring as a highly decorated AMCS Senior Chief. Following her military career, Carly continued serving as a civilian contractor for the Navy.
Carly’s spirit joined her loved ones in heaven on December 22, 2021 after becoming another tragic statistic of the many lives lost waiting on an organ donor. She will forever be remembered for her deep love for others along with her love of the ocean, relaxing on the beach, her passion for classic cars and “oldies” music. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and countless cherished memories. In honor of her memory, we ask that everyone considers being a blood and organ donor to bless the lives of others.
Carly was preceded in death by her father Raymond Hernandez, her brother John S. Hernandez along with her beloved wife Francis Kay “Kitty” Hernandez who was truly the love of her life. She is survived by her mother Patricia (McVey) Hernandez; her niece Veronica Choate (Brad); her children Raymond Hernandez (Anna), Rebecca Marie Anzaldua (Paul) and Christopher Martin Hernandez (Serena); her siblings; Anita (Roy) Albright, Belinda (Gerry) Rush, sister-in-law Francis Hernandez, Cassandra (David) Laboube, Tim (Joy) Hernandez, Tom (Val) Hernandez, Diana (Lonnie) Sullivan, Eva (Edwin) Lettnecker, and Jeff (Claudette) Hernandez; cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Carly is also survived by countless friends whom became close family such as her lifelong friends and “sisters” Adrian Voss, Rosalinda Arevalo, Susan Peaden, Kimberly Graves Raybourn, and Donna Adams. Her wings spread far and wide as Carly touched so many lives and was blessed with “family” beyond those she was born with – together sharing unconditional love, admiration and unwavering devotion. Knowing her was a gift and she will be deeply missed by so many.
