

Cecil Isom Beasley, 96, passed away October 9, 2012 in Jacksonville Beach. He would have celebrated his 97th birthday the following day on October 10. Cecil was born in Columbia City, FL to Acel James and Mary Llanos Beasley. He attended the University of the South-Suwannee on a football scholarship. A hard worker, Cecil often worked two or three jobs at a time. He was employed with the City of Jacksonville Police for 28 years and retired as a Detective Sergeant.
Besides working as a police officer, Cecil also owned and operated Beasley Tire Service. After retirement from the city, he worked for the State Agriculture Department and for the Atlantic National Bank. Cecil was the oldest living police officer in Duval County and was honored last year. He was a devoted member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30 and the Andrew Jackson Alumni.
Cecil is survived by his daughters, Andrea Bryan (Larry), Trina Allan (Andy) and Melanie Beasley Green (John), 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Eloise Starratt Beasley and his daughter Cheryl Seguin.
A memorial service honoring Cecil’s life will be held 11am Monday, October 15 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach.
