Cheri Mae Dolan

She was born August 18th, 1954, in Anacortes WA where she was raised by her grandmother, Katie Jane Norman. She moved to Goldsboro NC in 1978, where she met and married Patrick Dolan, an Airmen in the United States Air Force, her husband of 44 years. As a military wife Cheri traveled to many new locations. She was always looking for adventure whether that be hiking through the mountains, obtaining a PADI Advanced Open Water Dive certification, or bungie jumping. Upon Pat’s retirement from the Air Force, they settled down in Jacksonville, Florida. Cheri worked as a Sales Associate for Bealls department stores and a Receptionist for ADT when she had to retire due to her health related to COPD. Post-retirement, Cheri enjoyed being a full-time grandmother and spending family time doing puzzles, dinners, or taking trips.

Cheri was a determined woman who never let an obstacle hold her back. She was the life of the party and an amazing person just to be around. She was the type that gave her all to everyone around her and knowing her was a blessing.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Katie Jane Norman; brothers Bob Nestle and Bill Nestle; and granddaughter Samantha Wetz.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Dolan; four children: Michael Montgomery (Johanna), Janice Montgomery, Bobbie Barker (Mike), and Patricia Ballard (Chuck); Sisters: Donna Weiss, Sandy Rodriguez; Brothers: Tom Montgomery and Wendell Montgomery; Grandchildren: Sean Montgomery (Amanda), Miranda Montgomery, Elora Montgomery, Veronica Pineda, David Pineda, Rebeca Valencia (Vinny), Johnny Martinez, Jenna Thompson, Lance Wetz, Kendra Wetz, Regan Ballard, Rilie Ballard, and Patrick Ballard; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
