Colin Patrick Kanady

Colin Patrick Kanady was the oldest son of nine children born to Sarah Rickenbacker and Dustin Kanady. He was 31 years old when he went home to be with God. Colin was an amazing young man with many gifts. As a child he was very gifted in math and demonstrated strong athletic ability playing baseball, soccer, football and tennis as he grew up. He earned a degree in Finance and quickly began to shine as a gifted investment solutions representative earning many distinctions over his nine-year career with Fidelity. His interests stretched beyond the finance world, as he also displayed evident passions for woodworking and scuba diving.

Most importantly though, Colin’s character was defined by his devotion as a father to his only son, Troy Kanady. Many of his happiest moments revolved around the time he spent with his son, and Troy will continue forward as Colin’s lasting legacy with the early life lessons his father taught him. He was also a loving husband to his wife, Sandra Kanady. Colin will be missed by his immediate and extended family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, his son, Troy, his parents, Dustin Kanady and Sarah Rickenbacker, his eight siblings (Hannah, Christopher, John, Zachary, Emily, Mary, Andrew, and Meaghan) as well as a small army of sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews; his fraternal grandparents, Mary and Gary Kanady, his maternal grandfather, David Anderson, two step parents (Scott Rickenbacker and Kimberli Kanady), many friends and other relatives who watched this bright shining star burn out too soon. Colin was also a born again Christian who called the church at Eleven22 home. We can all take hope in the fact that we will see Colin again on Heaven's Shores. May he rest in peace and may he bask in the light of the Lord eternity.
