Danila Bello McDonald, age 67, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in the Philippines on October 6, 1958, Danila immigrated to the United States as a teenager and eventually made Jacksonville, Florida, her home, where she built a life defined by hard work, generosity, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Danila graduated from Terry Parker High School. It was through life’s journey that she met and fell in love with her husband, Mathew “Matt” McDonald. Together they shared a passion for exploring the outdoors, traveling, hiking, and discovering the beauty of nature. Their adventures took them across the country in their RV, visiting countless national parks, with Arches National Park always holding a special place in Danila’s heart. Whether relaxing in the Florida Keys or spending time at the McDonald family river cabin, she found peace and joy wherever there was water, fresh air, and the people she loved.
A determined entrepreneur, Danila built and owned a successful post construction cleaning business, earning the trust and respect of many of North Florida’s largest home builders. Her integrity, work ethic, and genuine relationships made her a respected business owner and friend to many throughout the construction community.
Those who knew Danila will remember that her greatest joy was bringing people together. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her hospitality unmatched. Family and friends fondly remember gatherings filled with oysters, barbecue, cheesecakes, laughter, and unforgettable feasts. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and like family.
Perhaps Danila’s greatest legacy was her selfless heart. During the last decade of her life, she devoted herself to caring for those who needed her most, including her mother and her two disabled brothers, Randy and Jose “Lits.” She gave freely of her time, her strength, and her love, never seeking recognition, only hoping to make life better for those around her.
Danila was preceded in death by her father, Jose Sintos, and her mother, Delores Bello Sintos.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Matthew “Matt” McDonald, her cherished dog-ter Abby, her sister, Marilu, her brothers, Jose “Lits”, and Randy, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her kindness, generosity, and love.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life will follow immediately, both at Beaches Chapel, Neptune Beach, Florida.
Danila’s adventurous spirit, generous heart, and boundless love for family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest legacy we leave is the love we share with others.
