Dennis Lee Craft

On Monday, May 10, 2022 Dennis Lee Craft, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 77 after battling cancer for 10 years. Dennis was born on October 10, 1944 in Staples, MN to the late Thomas and Frannie Craft. He graduated in 1962 from Motley High School. Dennis had a successful career in finance, working for CIT Finance, Manufactors Hanover Wheelease, TransSouth Finance, Nation’s Credit and Morgan Stanley. On July 3, 1965, Dennis married Kay, and they were married for nearly 57 years. They raised two daughters, Michele and LeeAnne. Dennis had a passion for God and serving the community via the Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, Apostle Ship of the Sea, Catholic Charities and St. Vincent de Paul. He also loved golf, NASCAR, and sports. One of his favorite things to do was to walk the beach as his daily exercise. Dennis was known for his generosity, dry sense of humor and kindness to others. Dennis’ two daughters and his 6 grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy in life. You could always find Dennis at a sporting or life event rooting them on. He is survived by his beloved wife Kay; loving daughters Michele (Dave) Staudenmaier and LeeAnne Craft; grandchildren Taylor, Zach, Jackson, Theo, Hendricks and Mikko; siblings David Craft (Rita), Fred Craft(Carol), Dolly Hirschey (Al) Loyal Craft, Maynard Craft and Sandie Talkov (Roger), and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, May 16 from 5pm-7pm at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens 1701 Beach Blvd Jacksonville Beach FL, 32250 Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2400 Mayport Road Atlantic Beach FL, 32233.
