Dickie was known for his fun-loving spirit, high energy, and joyful personality. He had a special way of lighting up every room he entered, bringing smiles and comfort to those around him. His laughter was contagious, and his presence made life brighter for everyone who knew him.
Above all, Dickie loved the Lord. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding him to love others with kindness, compassion, and grace. He lived each day with a joyful heart and a servant’s spirit, reflecting his deep devotion and belief. One of his favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 29, a reflection of the hope and promise he carried throughout his life.
Dickie is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kimberly, and his son, Joshua; his cherished grandchildren, Joshua Jr., Rebekah Marie Thomas, & Ishawn Billingslea; his twin sister, Vickie Torrent; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He often shared his personal motto: “The 3 most important things in life: God, Family, Food. And remember the best is yet to come!”—words that perfectly capture the way he lived and loved.
A service to celebrate Dickie’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at West Jax Advent Christian Church, 8376 Normandy Blvd; Jacksonville, FL 32221.
