Dollie was born in Bishopville SC on July 22, 1938. She was the 9th child of Zeb and Elise Joe. Dollie developed a strong work ethic farming with her family and selling goods in the local farmer market. She overcame harsh oppressive times in the South to pursue a career in Nursing in Philadelphia PA. She became an encouraging force for family and friends for her remaining days.
She gave her time and finances to ensure others could pursue their dreams. She took joy in seeing family and friends succeed. Family and friends would joke about the "Dollie Scholarship fund".As long as Dollie had health, you had her unselfish support. She frequently shared her home with patients under her care to insure they would not spend the holidays alone.
While Dollie enjoyed competitive bowling and flea market bargains, her biggest joy was close conversation with friends and family. She loved scripture, gospel music and singing praise songs on relaxing evenings. Everyone will miss her uplifting outreach She is the last surviving of 9 brothers and sisters. Dollie is survived by her sons and their wives Bruce, Teresa, Kyle and Rashida and Grandkids Elliott, Christopher, Jajuan along with numerous loving cousins, relatives and friends.
She passed on November 24, 2020 around a loving family. We thank the Lord for a life well lived.
