

Northeast Florida, graduated to heavenly rest on Jan 21, 2013. She
was 87 years old.
Hallie was a smart and gracious lady whose positive qualities touched
all who knew her.
Born March 16, 1925 in Jacksonville to Guy A. and Hallie C. Kenimer,
Hallie grew up in Avondale, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School,
and studied music at the University of Georgia.
She married Charles E. Hillyer II in 1944, in Jacksonville. They had
three children: Glenn H. Corley (William A.), of Pueblo, CO; Charles
E. Hillyer III (Kathy M.), of Federal Point, FL; and Guy K. Hillyer
(Edith M. Fox) of St Augustine, FL.
She married Charles L. Godwin in 1964. He passed away in 2000.
In 1967, she joined the staff of the newly formed Jacksonville
Episcopal High School, when the school's offices were still housed at
St. Johns Cathedral. She worked with the school for 22 years: 18
years as Registrar, and then as Assistant Development Director and as
Director of Alumni Relations.
After retiring from Episcopal, she continued her development work for
another decade at the Golf Ministry office of the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes.
In 2007, she married Frederick W. Grubb of Saint Augustine.
She is survived by her devoted husband Frederick; her sister Elizabeth
K. Tucker of Sautee-Nacoochee, GA; her three children; eight
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2PM, at Grace United
Methodist in St. Augustine, FL.
