Helen moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida in 1954 and made it her lifelong home. It was there that she built a beautiful life centered around family, friendships, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
She is survived by her four children: Robin Cannady, Lisa Bass, Sean Kelley, and Clint DeGuzman; her sister, Andrea Bailey; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arturo DeGuzman; her sisters, Susan Greene and Kathy Marshman; and her mother, June.
Helen had a passion for gardening, ceramics, and painting, always finding beauty in the world around her. She loved shopping for her favorite knickknacks and treasures, especially Christmas decorations, and had a special talent for transforming an ordinary room into something truly marvelous. She had a gift for turning everyday moments into laughter, and her unforgettable cackle could light up any room. She was a devoted fan of Elvis and Rod Stewart, and her love for their music was just one of the many things that made her uniquely herself. She also dearly loved her dog, Bella May, who brought her comfort and companionship.
Above all, Helen loved her family with her whole heart. She lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment and creating memories that will be cherished forever. While we mourn her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now embracing her mother, June, her sisters, and her beloved husband in heaven. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held at H. Warren Smith Cemetery in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on March 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., for close family and friends.
