When I first met Jake I felt this feeling in my heart that I knew he was a very good person he reminded me so much of my husband Doug him & Doug were like two peas in a pot Jake and Bree would come over quite often and have cookout with our family and that is a memory that I will hold in my heart forever them two would come in the house and wrestle around roll around on the floor and I didn't mind it it was just like having my kids here with me Jake was a very special person he was a good worker Doug told me that that man worked his ass off everyday he wasn't like a normal 19 year old kid that didn't want to work he went to work everyday and did what it was supposed to do him and dog with laugh when Jake would come here those two would just sit and laugh and talk and laugh and he just reminds me so much of Doug I think that's why Doug's taking it a little bit hard because Doug seen himself and Jake will see you again one day buddy rest in peace

My family and I knew Jacob throutht his friendship with my son Jake. Before the boys could drive I served many times as transportation between the boys coming together.  Jacob accompanied us on a family vacation where we had to evacuate 50 floors from the high rise that we were staying at in Miami.  The greatest thing that as a father I remember about this trip was how Jacob cared about my Jake's future.. here two fifteen year old buddies enjoying the nightlife of Miami (with old man in tow) and Jacob was wanting better for MY son! Instant respect was earned. Jacob ended up in many of our life events throughout the years and he was always a gentleman. Last time I ran into Jacob was at the gym parking lot and he had that bigger than life smile on his face and that is how I choose to remember him. God Speed my boy and we will see you again in the future.  Prayers to your family as they and we will have to live without you until then.

The very first thing I think about is how nice of a young man Jacob was when I knew him. I worked in sales at Beach Marine and I remember he came to work at the Marina during his free time from school; I think he was in high school at this time. He would help out with the service department most of the time, if I remember correctly, but he would also spend some time helping out in  Drystack and in the boat lot with the boat sales team; I’m sure Chris Woodall, Travis, Bob, Craig, Josh and others would attest.  
That boy always had a smile on his face. No matter what task he was given, he always did it with a smile. And I remember just random conversations with Debra, and something was always said about how he was so good with his little sister. I witnessed that because she would be at the marina a lot too and he was always so kind and patient with his little sister. 
Jacob was a special young man and although I haven’t talked to him in a few years after I left Beach Marine, I always thought he was such a great kid with a big heart and I won’t forget that.

No words can make things better. No words can bring back your baby. By far the biggest fear of a mother, father, grandparent, aunt, uncle and sibling is losing a loved one so dear to the heart. I only met Jacob at Beach Marine as an infant and toddler. Maybe that’s what hits me the hardest as a father myself. My last living memory is of that innocent baby smiling in the back seat of your Kia Debra. I do remember that proud mommy, with the grin stretching ear to ear.  You and your family raised him well. You taught him what life is and how to be a young man. You did your job. Your son is looking down on your family now.  If you could hear his voice, I am certain it would say I love you sister, I love you mommy and daddy I love you all family. He surely would tell you that he is your biggest fan. He would be that shoulder to cry on. He would tell you its ok to cry and have a moment of weakness, then to be strong that everything is ok. You know Jacob is looking down on you now praying for the moment you take your Next First Steps. The baby steps of healing. He would say, always move forward more steps than you do back and don’t step back so far that you fall off that dock. Remember your memories, cherish those moments and hold them tightly. They can not be taken away.  You got this mom, sister, daddy and family from your son above.  

So sorry to hear about this. He was a good kid and taken way to soon. He was great with our grandson and always kept in touch with him when he was here for the summer. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mark and Denise Wade

Jacob used to help me load my car at Ace hardware on the weekends and always reminded me (after I had already paid full price) that I was family and he could get me the family discount. I will certainly miss Jacob at family gatherings especially Christmas and thanksgiving. Rest In Peace.

One of our memories is watching the exuberance with which Jacob watched the Thanksgiving day football games.  We’re not sure we’ve ever seen anyone as excited and over the top happy as he was when spending Thanksgiving with family and football.  He GOT into his games and players.   Far too soon, Jacob.   
 
We surround his family with our gentle caring hugs and prayers for comfort and peace.
