Jacqueline F. Marsden, 88, passed away November 19, 2018. She was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on May 6, 1930. Jackie graduated from El Reno High School and received her Bachelor degree in early childhood education from University of North Florida.
She met her husband Bob on Bison Hill in Shawnee, Oklahoma and they married in 1948 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Bob and Jackie moved the family from Oklahoma to Jacksonville in 1957. Jackie worked for State Farm for many years prior to her and Bob owning the Dairy Queen in Jacksonville Beach. After completing her college education, she was a founder of the First Baptist Church School Ministry.
After many years of teaching, Jackie and Bob opened Archway Christian Bookstore in Jacksonville Beach. Jackie’s interest and passions included teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, working in the garden and being with her family. Jacqueline is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Bob D. Marsden, Sr.; brother, Wayne Ezell and granddaughter Ashley Marsden.
She is survived by her children, Bob D. Marsden, II (Maureen) and Deborah McKay (Dave); grandchildren, Christie Lauderdale, Michael Barie, Brandon Barie, Luke Marsden (Connie) and Drew Palacios (Niko); great-grandchildren, Sarah and Coleman Lauderdale and Avery Marsden.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 26th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 435 1st Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach, with Fr. William Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Sunday, November 25th at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
