After a final battle with cancer, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Pryor succumbed to her illness on February 2, 2019, at McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Many members of her large and loving family were there.
Jacquelyn was born August 20, 1927 to Linda (Hall) and David Collier in Moultrie, Georgia. A humble woman, she would say she wasn’t special. Those who knew her-from her children, grand and great-grandchildren, cousin and extended family, lifelong friends, career-long AT&T colleagues and others- would say otherwise. She showed up at home, at work and in her community as a true servant leader. Her Christian faith, principles of generosity, fairness, hard work, tenderheartedness and tenacity made her loved and lovable. She was strong and passionate about her love for Jesus Christ and His power and providence over her life. Her prevailing optimism and belief in the goodness in the world inspired everyone. She often said that if it hadn’t been for crippling arthritis in her later years, that she had an amazing and overall wonderful life.
“Jackie” enjoyed travel and visited Panama and several European countries. She had a sense of adventure but Family always came first. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Cliff Pryor; only sibling, Lynn and their parents. She is survived by five children, whom she adored, encouraged, blessed ad believed in with all of her might: David Doerr, Debbie Martin, Donna (Lyn) DeLoach, Doug (Mary) Doerr, and Jan-Mari (Paul) Stanford, as well as beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews in whose hearts and traditions Jackie will forever abide.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, 150 Sherry Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Community Hospice and Palliative Care or the Youth Group at CPC.
