

James Robert Sauvé, 84, passed away peacefully on April 24, in Jacksonville Beach, FL.
Born in Northbridge, MA in 1942, he was a graduate of the class of 1960 from Brunswick High. Jim was a member of the school’s baseball, basketball, football and track teams, as well as proudly having won King Teenager of the Week on Portland’s local TV show, the Dave Astor Show (1959). He earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Bentley University in Waltham, MA. In 1962 he married his high school sweetheart Dianne Bernier, who passed away in 2013.
Jim worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Portland for 32 years, retiring in 1994. He and Dianne raised their children in Yarmouth, ME before briefly moving to Williamston, NC, where as a devoted husband, he supported Dianne’s career in midwifery. In 1995 the couple settled in Phoenix, AZ. He moved to Jacksonville Beach in 2019.
His hobbies included watching nearly all sports, participating in sports trivia, traveling and hanging out with his cat Trouble. He was known for always having a sunny disposition and being able to start up a conversation with anyone and everyone he met.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dianne. He is survived by his son James III of Las Vegas, NV and granddaughter, Bethany, of Atlanta, GA, daughters Amy Garfield of South Portland, ME, and Alice and grandson, Joseph Curtis, of Jacksonville Beach, FL.
