

Janice M. Hoffer, 73, died the evening of 11 December 2014, in Jacksonville, FL, the result of being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street inside Queen’s Harbour. She had a heart for helping others and was devoted to her family and friends. She is dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Leon E. Hoffer and two sons, Brian Dale and Kevin Lee; 5 grandchildren; sister, Linda Everson and brother David Nyhus, and many other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her father and mother.
She was born and grew up in Wisconsin, living on her parent’s dairy farm. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. After graduation, she worked in the capitol city of Wisconsin, Madison. After three years, she accepted a job in Washington D.C. where she met her husband, a Naval Officer. She supported him, raised their two children and moved with them to San Diego, California, back to Washington D.C, Charleston, S.C., Stuttgart, Germany, and Newport, R.I. Second careers too them to Moorestown, N.J. Retirement included Reynolds Plantation, GA and finally Queens Harbour, FL. Janice love sports, especially golf, and card games, bridge and canasta.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22 in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2 pm Dec. 22, 2014.
