

.Jean Arden Hutchinson, 74, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on June 10th, 1942 in Charleston, SC to Eugene Powers and Lela Lindenburg Powers.
Jean was married to her loving husband, Henry M. Hutchinson for 54 years. Marvin's sister Joan introduced the two of them while Henry served in the US Air Force. Jean loved to travel and visited more than 25 states as well as Germany and England. Jean really enjoyed traveling along the east coast of the US with Orlando and Charleston, SC two of her favorite places – Orlando for the shows and Charleston for the wonderful seafood as well as visiting her family.
Two of Jean’s passions were shopping and watching movies. Her favorite stores were Stein Mart, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Belk and Publix. Her other passion was going to the movies where she enjoyed Christian movies, action pictures, mystery and suspense.
The thing Jean loved the most was her family. There is nothing that she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. Jean always looked forward to family gatherings. Her family brought her great joy!
Jean worked as a nursery school teacher at Palms Presbyterian Church and worked with special needs children while employed with the Duval County, Public School System. She worked as a homemaker and was a great servant, teacher, care taker and guardian of her family. WOW, no better title than to be called “Mom” with love from family.
Jean is survived by her husband; Henry M. Hutchinson; son – Marvin Todd Hutchinson; daughter –Tamar Jean Jackson (Tucker); sister- Yvonne Sienkiewicz (Bob); brother – Kenneth Powers (Linda); and a granddaughter – Amanda Gail Hutchinson and many friends and others.
A visitation and Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, December 29, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
