Jack was born in the Bronx, New York, to Daniel and Mary Ellen Lynch. A gifted athlete, he attended Niagara University on a full scholarship for track, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. He went on to spend much of his professional life working in sales, a career well suited to his outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with others. Jack was an avid golfer who truly loved the game, and a devoted football fan who proudly cheered on the New York Giants. He was deeply proud of his Irish heritage and his Catholic faith, both of which shaped the values he carried throughout his life. Above all else, Jack was a devoted father and a loving husband.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Lynch. He leaves behind his daughters, Tara Schaffer, Dana Applegate, and Jaclyn Schussman, as well as five cherished grandchildren, four boys and one girl, ranging in age from eight to three. His family was his greatest joy, and he had a rare gift for bringing smiles to those around him with his warmth, humor, and kind heart.
A Funeral Mass will be held on February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; 2400 Mayport Road, Jacksonville, FL 32233; burial immediately afterwards in Chapel Hill Memory Gardens.
