John Robert Reeves Born 06/05/54 lived most of his life in Atlantic Beach. As a teenager he rode his motorcycle through the halls of Fletcher High School in defiance of administrators causing his parents to find him a job with the Beasleys at Rite Spot Restaurant where he stayed as chef until David Wampler bought the business years later and of course kept and loved Johnny as well.
An avid surfer and beach bum, Johnny succumbed to lung cancer on Saturday December 17th but his death was quick and he was able to walk to the ocean almost daily before the cancer caught up to him. Johnny was known to many at the beach as a friend and will be missed.
He is survived by siblings Janace Poole, Sherri (Reeves) and Ray Flott, Billy Reeves, Caroline (Reeves) and Hank Wells and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at North Beach Bistro 725 Atlantic Blvd. Friday the 23rd from 12pm to 3pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
