My abuela was the fiercest woman I know, and I miss her so much already. She taught us how to be strong, and to pursue a dream, and that’s why she came to America. She gave her children, and their children and the children of theirs to come a place to live, and a place to chase whatever they wanted in their lives. I’ll miss your cooking. I’ll miss peeling your face mask off in the mornings, or calling you to tell you about my drama. I promise you Abuelita that I will live my life to the fullest, and make sure my children know about you and about your culture and what you and abuelo sacrificed to make sure we could be our best.

My mother was a fighter. She survived for many years with or without any help from others. My mom endured so much pain at a very young age. She lost her first daughter to health issues and had endured the pain of another daughter who suffered from mental illness. She also took on the challenges of raising her second granddaughter which was cut short due to her own accident. My mother gave as much as possible ...she was THE GIVING TREE. We will all miss your fiery red hair & personality. I know you are with the angels in heaven with my older sister & Abuelita. We will meet again someday. Rest In Peace , Julie❤️
