Lillian Sarah Solomon, 85, left for heaven on Friday, December 14th. She is survived by her cherished and loving daughter, Dorothy “Dart” Bransby (Shayne); her sister, Bonnie Scott, and nephews, Richard and Wayne Tretchell. Additionally, Lillian is survived by those she mothered like her own: Rose Mary Hamlin, and her namesake, Lillian Young. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Nikki Matos (Michael) and Kristin Smith (Kyle) and great-grandchildren, Michael and Miley Matos. Lillian was like a grandmother to Dennis Josephsen (Diana) and Eric Young (Rene Rogers).
After many years of dedicated service, Lillian retired as a staff member of MWR at Naval Station Mayport. While her loving presence will be dearly missed, our hearts are filled to overflowing with a lifetime of her love and memories. She leaves us with her legacy of loving care and her family and many friends will miss her beyond measure, but Lillian will never be forgotten.
A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Thursday December 20th in the chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
