

Malcolm Andrew “Andy” Smith died May 23rd, 2026 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He was born September 16th, 1958, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the youngest child of Billy Ray (William) Smith and Dolores Angeline McKenzie. After his parents divorced when he was two, he lived in Dallas, Texas with his mother, step-father (Charles Walter “Chuck” Beveridge) and siblings for two years before moving to Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. He married Angela Rene Portier on September 22nd, 1979, in Jacksonville. His son, Adam Andrew Smith, was born February 19th, 1981 in Jacksonville and his daughter, Amanda Rene Smith was born March 23, 1984 in Jacksonville. Adam died September 10th, 2020 in Jacksonville. Andy was a roofing estimator for several roofing firms in the Jacksonville area before moving to Orlando, Florida. He was the number one roofing estimator in Florida for two years in a row. While in Orlando, he played softball on his company’s softball teamand was known for his towering homeruns. He was an avid golfer until multiple back injuries forced him to quit. The debilitating back injuries eventually forced his early retirement. He lived with his sister, Nancy, until his death. Survivors include: his daughter, Amanda, and her daughter, Paislee Rene Smith, Gulfport, Mississippi; daughter-in-law, Fleur De Lis Jimenez Silvan and fiancé, Miro Guentchev, Jacksonville, and her son, Carlos Magaña, US Air Force, his wife, Kacie and their daughter, Valentina; his brother, Ray Gregory Smith and wife, Hasna, Jacksonville; sister, Nancy Smith Bradford, Jacksonville, her step-daughters, Heather Bradford Utter, Jacksonville, and Darby Bradford Larkin, Sarasota, Florida; sister, Kimberly Smith Patrick, her husband, Daniel Patrick, both Jacksonville, their sons, Christopher Patrick, Sarasota, Florida, and Paul Patrick, Hillsboro, Oregon; his great aunt, Katy Viola (Kathryn) McKenzie Leeper, Jacksonville; cousins, Cathy Leeper, Jacksonville and Steve Leeper and wife, Leslie, Birmingham, Alabama; his best friends, Herb Fouraker, Frank Winn, Tonya Steele and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his good nature and great sense of humor. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. He will be buried in a private ceremony at a later date.
