residence on March 28th 2018. A celebration of life will be held at
HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd.,
Jacksonville Beach, at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 31,2018.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3rd at Parkhill
Cemetery in Columbus, Ga.
Marianna was born on December 24th 1949, in Columbus, Ga.
The daughter of the late Henry W. and Anne Phillips Swift. She
attended Columbus High School, Queens College ,The University
of Ga. where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority . She
went on to graduate from Mercer University with a BA degree in
Art.
While in Columbus, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal
Church, The Junior League and was a committed volunteer with
The Southern Open and Columbus Tennis Classic. She moved to
Ponte Vedra in 1987 and was a member of Christ Episcopal
Church, the Ponte Vedra Club and The Lodge and was a Trustee
of the Ed McCurry Foundation that provided college scholarships.
Marianna took joy in her needlework as exemplified by the
numerous works she did for her nieces and nephew. She spent
much of her time giving to others through her selfless and
generous spirit. She loved spending time with her dogs: Annie,
Kacy, and Melo.
Marianna was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine
Collier Philips(Collie) and is survived by three brothers, Henry W.
Swift Jr., Thomas P. Swift (Barbara) and Mathews D. Swift (Mary
Lou), all of Columbus, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews. In
Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PAWS or your
favorite charity.

Richmond, Ida Whitfield and Kathy Roberts.
