

Mary Mory Schultz, 96, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and formerly Ithaca, died on June 13, 2013, after a brief illness. She had a long, wonderful life, and was proud of her Pennsylvania German heritage. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Mary was born at home in Boyertown, PA, on September 16, 1916, and lived in Boyertown until high school. She graduated from Bradford Academy in Haverhill, MA, in 1934, and from Connecticut College in 1938. She was studying for her Master’s degree in Democracy at Columbia University when she met her future husband and life-love. She married Andrew S. Schultz, Jr. in 1939 and moved to Ithaca where they began their life together as well as a long relationship with Cornell University. At the time of her death, Mary was a resident of the Vicar’s Landing retirement community in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, where she had lived since 1993.
Mary is survived by her daughter Susan Schultz Tapscott of Houston, TX, son-in-law Christopher and grand-daughters Amanda, Emma, and Mary, daughter-in-law Maureen S. Schultz, grandson Andrew, and nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, by her beloved son Andrew (Toby) Mory Schultz, and by her brother, Charles S. Mory, Sr.. She was the last remaining member of her generation in the Mory and Schultz families.
Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ithaca at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850.
